Queensland’s top young livestock auction houses line up

Queensland’s most aspiring livestock dealers will participate in the state’s young auctioneer competition next week.
Ten young auction houses will compete for the title of 2020 ALPA Queensland Young Auction House in the scenic area of ​​Queensland on the afternoon of August 6 (Thursday).

ALPA stated that this historic event will be held together with the Ekka Prime Beef Sale in the 31st year.
In the past few years, competitors have participated in the auctioneer school held in Rockhampton, where several experienced auctioneers provided feedback on how to improve their skills, and voice pathologists provided feedback on how to improve their skills. Auction techniques related to nursing. But this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school was not held. Young auctioneers who wanted to participate in the competition were asked to submit a video of themselves auctioning three bullpens in a row at a local sales center. Then, an online review by a panel of experts will select 10 finalists.
Based on industry experience and strong sales background, a panel of judges composed of three judges will select the winning auctioneer this year. They will look for the direction, values, voice, method, presence and unique style of their competitors to create an unforgettable performance worth winning.
